Reason for giving the headset 4 instead of 5 stars is because they look a bit "dorky" to me. These work as long as you are out in the open & line of sight to the satellite is maintained.
I listen to XM programming a lot. I have it in my home & car.
The price was right so I decided to try them. Forget the clip-on clear plastic antenna that came with the radio.
I wanted something to use for when I walk the dog, hike or while biking. This is the solution.
No surprises there. They fit fine, are comfortable.just slightly large looking.
I waited a long time to purchase this until I found it on sale. Excellent quality construction and good reception, intermittant inside the house but not bad. Very good reception mowing the yard or laying in the hammock.Gave it 4 stars because the sound quality is very good but not great.
This the only way to be able to ware my Airwave radio and get decent reception. Otherwise you need to just set the radio on a table with a clear view of the sky to receive the satelite signals. This way I can do my outside work and Listen to all the Detroit Tigers games.
Distortion is also not too bad, even at high volume levels. I have had much more comfortable headphones in the past but the convenience of having the XM antennae built into the headphones is well worth the minor comfort issues. Nice touch putting a volume control in the right side headphone. As for the sound quality, it is about what you would expect from a headphone of this type and price range. The lows are good but not great, ditto for the highs. Would probably have given this product 5 stars if they would be more comfortable and had slightly better sound. Overall though, this is a very good product if you have a MyFi or similar product.
While it was great to have a built-in antenna for the MyFi this unit is way to large and clumsy. I would have love one that had earbuds type speakers rather than the large ear covering ones. The sound is good and reception fine but just too large and old fashion type headset.
